Ingredients

  • Oil: For cooking. Use a flavorless high heat oil like canola, avocado or vegetable.
  • Garlic, ginger and chili: Finely diced. You can adjust the amount of chili to suit your tastes and use seeded or deseeded.
  • Soy sauce: Use your favorite brand. Salty and umami, this makes for a rich dipping sauce.
  • Rice Vinegar: Less tangy than regular white vinegar, it adds a lovely bright flavor to the dip. Apple cider vinegar is a good substitute.
  • Honey: The sweetness of the honey balances out the savory and acidic flavors wonderfully.
  • Lime Juice: Use freshly squeezed lime juice rather than bottled for the best flavor.

This spice has a little heat to it. Once it’s warmed through, give it a taste and if you like it spicier, stir in a little cayenne pepper.

If you are vegan, you can swap the honey for maple syrup. It will have a deeper sweetness to it, but still be delicious!
