Ingredients and Notes

  • Celery: I used two celery hearts for this recipe. Make sure that the stalks are fresh and firm.
  • Oil: Use a neutral flavored oil with a high smoking point. Canola, vegetable or avocado oil all work great. The oil helps the celery to cook evenly.
  • Seasonings: Garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper.
  • Optional garnish: Fresh parsley.

This air fryer celery is great to serve with chicken and fish dishes as a side dish, but it is also great to serve up as an appetizer with your favorite dipping sauce! Try it with some of these favorites:

Recipe Variations

It’s easy to make this recipe your own by mixing up the seasonings. The celery is great with just salt, or try it with a little paprika or chilli flakes. I love to garnish the celery with fresh herbs, this time I used parsley, but chives or cilantro works great too.

Make Ahead and Storage

This air fried celery is best eaten as soon as it is cooked so that the stems don’t get soft. If you do have leftovers they can be reheated in the air fryer for a couple of minutes to warm through.

Recipe Notes and Tips

  • Wash the celery ribs well under running water before using and pat them dry with kitchen towel to remove excess water.
  • If you want to serve these as an appetizer with a dip, you can cut the stems longer so that they are easy to hold and dip.
  • I found that 10 minutes of cooking time in the air fryer made the celery tender, but it still retained it’s crunch. If you prefer it softer, you can cook them at a slightly lower temperature for longer.
