Honey Soy Dipping Sauce

Sweet, salty and a little spicy, this Asian honey soy dipping sauce is so easy to make from scratch! Perfect for serving with appetizers and a delicious marinade too!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 1 inch fresh ginger finely chopped
  • 1 red chilli finely chopped with seeds
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (120ml)
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar (60ml)
  • 1/2 cup honey (120ml)
  • juice 1/2 lime

To garnish (optional)

  • sliced green onions and sliced ginger

Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a small pan over a medium high heat. Once hot, add in the chilli, ginger and garlic.
    1 tablespoon oil, 2 garlic cloves, 1 inch fresh ginger, 1 red chilli
  • Cook for 3 - 4 minutes, then turn down to a low heat. Pour in the rest of the dip ingredients and gently heat for about 5 mins. Do not boil.
    1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup rice vinegar, 1/2 cup honey, juice 1/2 lime
  • Pour the dip through a fine sieve and allow to cool.
  • Serve with garnish, if using.

Notes

    • Make the prep of this dipping sauce super quick and easy by using ready to use and chopped garlic, ginger and chili.
    • Don't worry too much if you can't chop the garlic, ginger and chili finely. Go as small as you can for the best flavors, but it won't matter if some pieces are bigger than others. It doesn't have to be perfect as we pass the sauce through a sieve.
    • Deseed the chili if you don't want the dip to be as spicy.
    • Can be served warm, at room temperature or cold.
