This homemade dill pickle salad dressing is wonderfully creamy and tangy, and takes minutes to make. This healthier dressing is made with Greek yogurt and is low in calories, fat and sugar. It’s a wonderful way to liven up your everyday salads, or use it as a dip for crudité, wings or fries!

If you can’t get enough of dill pickles, then this salad dressing is a must! Creamy, tangy and salty, without being too overpowering, you’ll be enjoying this all the time!

Store bought dressings are of course super convenient to grab, but homemade are so much more flavorful, not to mention healthier. This one takes a few minutes to make up and then you can keep it in your fridge ready to use in the week.

This ranch style dressing is a great way to add some flavor to your salad, but it also makes for a pretty awesome dip or marinade!

  • Pickles: Pickled cucumbers are finely diced to give the dressing some texture.
  • Pickle juice: This helps to thin the dressing as well as add more pickle flavor.
  • Fresh herbs: Dill and parsley add color and freshness.
  • Greek yogurt and mayonnaise: For an extra creamy dressing. You only need a little mayo for richness and the Greek yogurt adds a great tangy flavor that works so well with the dill pickles.
  • Seasonings: Salt, black pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.

Recipe Variations

For a smoother dill pickle dressing, you can add all of the ingredients to a blender and process til smooth., rather than whisk it by hand.

For a more indulgent dip, you can use sour cream or mayonnaise in place of the Greek yogurt.

Can you make it dairy-free?

To make this dressing vegan, simply use a plant-based yogurt and mayonnaise so that you don’t lose any of that creaminess.

What are the best pickles to use?

I used whole dill pickles which I the diced finely, chopped slices or spears will work great too. For a slightly different flavor, you can try this dip with sweet or bread and butter pickles for a sweeter less tangy dressing.

This dill pickle salad dressing recipe is of course….great on salads! It adds a creamy texture and tangy flavor that’s pretty hard to beat! It also can be used as a marinade for chicken, the pickle juice makes the meat so tender and delicious! I also love to serve it up as a dip and is great on game day with wings, ribs or crudité.

Make Ahead and Storage

Once made, store the dressing in an airtight bottle or jar and keep refrigerated. It will keep well for around 5 days.

  • This salad dressing has a pourable consistency. If you prefer a thicker dip or dressing, only add in half of the pickle juice.
  • If possible, let the dressing sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors develop. The pickle flavor will become stronger the longer it is left.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup pickles (finely diced) (2 large pickles)
  • ¼ cup fresh dill (finely chopped) (4 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (0%) (240ml)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • pinch black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ cup pickle juice from the jar (120ml)

Instructions

  • Chop and dice the pickles, dill and parsley.
  • Add all of the ingredients into a jug and whisk together til smooth and creamy.
  • Keep refrigerated.
