  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 French baguette

Make the jalapeno garlic bread

  • Preheat the oven to 350F / 180c.
  • Combine the diced jalapeno with the butter, minced garlic and salt.
  • Slice the baguette on the diagonal, with each slice being about half an inch thick. Cut about 3/4 of the way down, leave the bottom in tact.
  • Use a knife to spread the butter into each slice (be generous and don't be afraid to really stuff it!
  • Spread the remaining butter over the top and sides of the baguette.
  • Wrap tightly in foil and place in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. If you prefer a crispier bite, uncover the foil and let cook uncovered for an additional couple of minutes.

Notes

  • Make this recipe vegan by using a plant-based butter.
  • When slicing the baguette, take care not to cut all the way through. Cut the slices about 3/4 of the way down the loaf so that it stays in tact.
  • Cut the slices about an inch thick. Cut them on the diagonal for a larger surface area.
  • Use a flat knife to spread and stuff the butter into the slices. Be generous, the butter makes it delicious!
  • Wrap the foil tightly around the bread so that it is fully sealed.
  • If you prefer a crispier bite, unwrap the foil for the last couple of minutes of baking to toast the baguette.
