Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Brussels Sprouts

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 7 ounces Brussels sprouts (200g / about 14 sprouts)
  • 1 teaspoon oil a high heat neutral oil like canola, vegetable or avocado
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • pinch black pepper
  • 7 strips bacon thin cut

Instructions

  • Prep the sprouts. Remove the outer leaves, trim the ends and cut in half lengthways.
  • Place the halved sprouts in a bowl and add the oil and seasonings. Stir to combine and coat the sprouts.
  • Cut the bacon strips into quarters. Take a piece of bacon and wrap it around half a sprout so that the ends overlap on the flat side. Use your fingers to gently stretch the bacon.
  • Place the bacon wrapped sprout seam side down in the air fryer and repeat the process until all sprouts are wrapped.
  • Cook in the air fryer at 400F / 200c for 15 minutes til the sprouts are tender and the bacon is crispy. Depending on the model of air fryer you have, you may need to adjust this timing slightly.

Notes

    • I prefer to cut the sprouts in half as it can help to reduce their bitterness. If you have small sprouts, then you can leave them whole.
    • When you wrap the sprouts, gently pull and tease the bacon so that it stretches around. The ends should be overlapping.
    • Cook in a single layer with a small gap between each piece. This will ensure that the bacon gets crispy all over.
