Air Fryer Roasted Beetroot

  • Pre heat the air fryer to 400F / 200c.
  • Slice off the roots and stems and peel the beets. Cut them into quarters through the middle and place them in a bowl.
  • Add in the sugar, garlic powder, salt and pepper and toss to combine.
  • Place in the air fryer basket in an even layer and set it to cook at 380F for 20 minutes.
  • Toss halfway through cooking.
  • Check the doneness of the beets, they should be fork tender but quite firm. Cook for another 5 minutes if required.

Notes

  • Preheat the air fryer before adding them in. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat function, set it to run at 400F for 5 minutes while you prep the beets.
  • Give the basket a shake halfway through cooking so that they cook evenly.
  • Air fryer models can run slightly differently so timings may beed to be adjusted. When cooked, the beets should be fork tender but still firm.
