Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 stick salted butter softened (110g)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced or finely diced)
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • flour for dusting
  • 16 ounces pizza dough (454g)

For the garlic butter baste

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 garlic clove (minced or finely diced)

Instructions

  • Make sure that your pizza dough is thawed and at room temperature and your butter is softened.
  • Mix together the stick of butter, 4 garlic cloves and parsley together in a bowl and set to one side.
  • Dust your work surface with flour and roll out the pizza dough into an oblong shape.
  • Spread the garlic herb butter over the pizza dough in an even layer. You may find that using your hands will help with this.
  • Roll up the pizza dough into a log, short end to short end.
  • Place in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill, or in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • While chilling, make the garlic butter baste by melting 2 tablespoons of butter with a minced garlic clove in a pan on the stovetop on a low medium heat.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400F / 200c.
  • Cut the log into slices so that you get 8 pinwheels.
  • Oil the bottom of the air fryer basket and place in the pinwheels. Brush the tops with the melted garlic butter.
  • Cook at 400F / 200c for 10 to 13 minutes til golden brown.

Notes

  • Your pizza dough should be at room temperature when you roll it out. Let it sit on the countertop for 30 minutes to an hour before rolling.
  • Make sure that your butter is softened.
  • Pizza dough is very sticky, so flour your work surface well before rolling it out. It's pretty stretchy, so use a mixture of a rolling pin and hand stretching to shape it.
  • Preheat your air fryer before placing in the rolls. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat function, let it run at 400F / 200c for 5 minutes.
  • Oil the bottom of your air fryer basket so that they don't stick.
  • Air fryer models can run slightly differently so cooking times may vary. The rolls are done when they are golden brown in color.
