Preheat the air fryer to 400F / 200c.
Cut the potatoes in half and add to a large bowl. Slice the onion and add to the potatoes.
Add the oil and seasonings to the bowl and toss well so that the potatoes and onions are evenly coated.
Once the air fryer is at temperature, add the seasoned potatoes and onions to the basket. Set to cook at 400F / 200c for 20 minutes.
Toss halfway through so that everything cooks evenly. Check for doneness from 17 minutes.
- I prefer to cut the potatoes in half as you get more crispy edges and they are sure to cook through. Smaller potatoes can be left whole if you prefer.
- I love to have my onions slightly charred, if you want yours less done and softer, add them in half way through cooking the potatoes.
- Preheat the air fryer before adding the potatoes and onions. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat function, let it run at 400F / 200c for 5 minutes while you prep everything.
- This recipe is easily doubled, but if you do, you will need to shake the basket a few extra times during cooking to make sure that everything is cooked evenly.
