Ingredients

Instructions

  • Place the honey, chili flakes and diced garlic into a small pot.
  • Put on a high heat and bring to a simmer.
  • Once it starts to bubble, take it off of the heat and stir in the rice wine vinegar.
  • Let cool before transferring to a mason jar.

Notes

  • Don't take your eyes off of the honey when you are heating it. Once it hits a simmer, if you leave it, it will boil over very quickly. Take it off of the heat as soon as it reaches a simmer.
  • If you don't like things too spicy, make the hot honey up with half a tablespoon of chili flakes first. Once it cools, taste some and if you want it hotter you can reheat it and add some more.
  • Let the honey cool before transferring to your jar.
  • Working with honey can be a sticky business! Rub your measuring cup or jug with a little oil before you measure out the honey. The oil will stop it from sticking to the surface of the cup.
